Supporting individuals, groups and committees to enhance their mental wellness and to advocate for those coping with mental illness through the provision of public and professional education, social action, advocacy and direct service delivery. 
Services include: crisis services, youth programs, housing facilities, peer support, information services, housing first services, recreation, leisure, and social support.

24/7 over the phone support for individuals experiencing crisis, suicidal thoughts or distress of any kind.

They are NOT currently running any of the children's groups (Blankets & Banana Splits) and will not be in the foreseeable future (due to covid regulations). If families are interested in any of the children's groups they are able to call LFS counselling and be put on a waitlist. LFS will reach out to them when they begin running these groups again.

Regular Programing
Individual Education is one-on-one educational sessions with adults where we look at various topics based on what the person wants to learn about. Examples of the topics: Emotions and Needs, Stress/Coping/Resilience, Grief and Loss, etc. This isn't like counselling. We don't do any processing in these sessions. 
In Personal Growth Groups, the focus is on a topic and explore that topic as a group of people. Again, not counselling and no processing but lots of learning about topics relevant to people's lives. Examples of these groups: The Mindful Self (exploring emotional awareness and mindfulness), Creating Compassionate Connections (exploring compassion and empathy with both self and others), etc.  We run these groups regularly and we try to select the group topic based on community need. 
With presentations/trainings/workshops, these are shorter sessions that are generally open to all where we provide information on a given topic. This category also includes things like presentations on Understanding Suicide (a very basic version of some things covered in Suicide Intervention Training, without the intervention part). *** these programs are currently being held online***
